People today don’t have the patience to see a project through. They expect an overnight success. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for wishful thinking. But wishful thinking doesn’t get the job done. The only thing that’s going to get the job done is putting in the effort.
At the time of writing this article my site has around 150 visitors a month. When I started about 10 months ago my first month I hardly had 10. For the past five months or so I’ve noticed around a 20% growth a month. And I have to admit I can do much better.
Even if I don’t, at this rate I will have 450 visitors within six months. Within a year I have about 1500 visitors a month (notice the difference?). My point being, this is how a business works. You start off small, you get your first few clients and you’re off to the races. Everyone started small, no matter how big they are today.
The difference is that the leaders in your field had the patience and motivation to keep pushing forward. So what’s holding you back? What can you give up to make your dream a reality? What are you willing to change in your life to have a chance to work at something you love? Instead of something you hate.
Too many people suffer five days a week, just to get to the weekend to get 48 hours of peace before heading back to the office. It doesn’t have to be like that. You can do whatever you want, just commit, put in the time and don’t let anything stop you.
