Laziness is by far the most dangerous thing in business. People just don’t take the time to plan. whether it’s pricing or the next few years ahead, if you don’t have a plan you don’t know where you are.
Understandably new self-employed individuals don’t have the experience to know what could happen in the future. But you have to understand this isn’t a game. You have to know what needs to get done in order to survive. How many units do you have to sell? How will you find the clients? Who will be your clients?
It’s ok to change the plan as you go along. It’s even ok to fail. But if you don’t have a clear plan where you want to be in X amount of time you will never get anywhere. I had the honor of attending a Jim Rohn seminar about 20 years ago. The one thing that stuck with me is “wherever you’re going you will get there in ten years. The question is where are you going?”
