This is one of the biggest piles of crap I ever heard, let me explain why. The idea of not meeting your heroes has some logic to it. The idea is never to meet people you idolize so that you won’t be disappointed when you find out that they are people just like you.

But isn’t that the point? Wouldn’t it help you to see that your heroes are regular people? wouldn’t that help you understand that you can do everything they can? My issue with this idea is that it allows people to hide behind the “I’m not as good” excuse.

You have no excuses. There is literally nothing that you can’t do. I think that meeting someone who found a way to reach his goal and finding out he has fears and failures just like you do should empower you.

After meeting your heroes and finding out they are just as screwed up as you are. What excuses will you come up with? Now we can tell the difference between those with low self-esteem and those that are just fooling themselves. No one has ever lost without giving up. So long as you didn’t throw in the towel not even death can take your determination away from you.

So don’t be afraid to meet your heroes, and don’t be afraid to be better than them.
