Herd behavior

A friend and I were in the theater once. After the movie ended the staff opened the doors at the bottom for us to exit the room. my friend noticed that there was a door close to us, but it was close. Without a second though my friend opened the door and we headed out of the theater. We didn’t notice what was happening because we were talking. But soon we noticed that half of the room was following us. The funny thing was we didn’t really now where we were going. Most times people won’t think they will just act. This is basically herd behavior, one person does something and everyone else just follows expecting him to have the answers. Even though most times that person has no clue what he’s doing they will just follow him like sheep without giving it a second though.

You can use this behavior to your advantage. Find someone people like to follow, it doesn’t have to be someone famous it could just be someone who is considered an authority in your field. As long as you can get him to comment on your work his followers will check you out. Don’t aim too high, start with influencers that have just a few more followers than you do.

From there it’s up to you. As long as you can keep them interested they will keep coming back.
