The sale starts when you read the first word

You might think that to close a sale you have to be some kind of superstar salesman, but the truth is you’re only doing part of the job. A sale starts way before you talk to the prospect, it starts when he reads the first word of your sales copy.

Today’s customer is much smarter and has all the information they could possibly want at their fingertips. There’s no wonder some sales close in seconds. What you should consider is that sales and marketing are one and the same. While marketing gets the client’s attention the sales team get him to take the leap. One team sets the dominoes up and the other knocks them down.

That’s why it’s so important that sales and marketing work together. Sales need to understand what the prospect saw on the landing page or video. And marketing need to understand what the reaction was, did the client understand the message? Or did he expect something entirely different?

By working together and constantly improving the whole company will grow.
