Your “not to do list”, the things that keep you unfulfilled

We all have bad habits. We all have those things that we want to change. My challenge for you today is to start a “not do to list”. This will be a list of things that are unproductive, slowing you down, or just simply annoy you.

What are these things?

It differs between people. To find yours do an 80/20 analysis. What are the 20% of things that hold you back 80% of the time? Is it waking up later? Not making enough calls at work? Or just doing things that take up too much of your time. Like checking Facebook at work.

What to do with the list?

Start monitoring your list. Notice when you do something that’s on it and write it down. It doesn’t have to be something big just follow your results. Your goal is to decrease the times you do those things a day. Just open a note or word doc and mark each time you do one of those things.

When you have gone an entire week without doing one of the not to do list items treat yourself to something you like. Go out for a cup of coffee or to a movie, whatever it is that will let you celebrate the achievement in a small way. This is very important, you have to train your mind to stop doing those things all together.
