You’re not the only one that breaks

Being in business is hard, possibly one of the hardest thing you will ever do. It’s because of your interactions with other people. People will cheat you, lie to you and generally disappoint you. The way you deal with all this disappointment will make or break your business.

As a human being, you will have many breaking points, times when you feel like you can’t take it anymore. And you wouldn’t be human if you didn’t. It’s important that you understand that everyone breaks even if they don’t show it. Thinking that you’re the only one that breaks might make you feel weaker than your role models and it’s just not true.

From the time you start your business you are constantly tested and you can only fail if you give up. What you should understand it that every day is different, and if today sucked tomorrow can only be better. I used this mindset when I was fixing computers. I knew that if I had a day that most of my clients would cancel at the last moment then that day was behind me for a short while. And if that day didn’t come I got myself ready for it.

I was so used to having a bad day once in a while that I started to make plans for it. Sometimes I would go out with my girlfriend to a movie or meet some friends and take a walk. Instead of allowing that day to break me I made it into something that would recharge me.

I try not to allow external things dictate my mood and you shouldn’t either.

I hope you found this post helpful, if so like it and share it with your friends. And while you’re at it, check out my ebook ‘level up your business’ a guide to starting your own business the right way.
