What are you obsessing about?

Obsession can be a good thing when it’s focused on the right things. New business owners like to obsess about what their logo should look like, or want colors to use on their website. They can have full day meetings to discuss their name. I don’t know about you but I have better things to do.

I understand, your business is your baby and it deserves the best. And I love the face that you’re obsessing about the details, just focus on the details the will bring you closer to your goals. So what should you be focused on?

How to get the right clients

Finding the right clients is the most crucial thing you will do in your business. It will determine not only your profit but your sanity. Working with clients that ask way too many questions or haggle over your prices too often will drive you crazy.

How to manage your time

As the business owner, your time is more valuable than you think. Yes, you can do some things better than your team, but if it’s something that’s taking tie away from crucial tasks that only you can do (like making life or death decisions) let your team handle them.

How to manage your money

You should come up with a strategy before you make your first dollar, so you don’t end up blowing all your profit away. You have to put aside the taxes you will eventually have to pay, and an investment that will be decided into two parts. One is for long term investments stocks or something along those lines). And another to be left liquid in case an opportunity comes up and you need the cash. Businesses rarely grow gradually, they explode when the right opportunity comes along (if they can take advantage of it).

Keep obsessing, just make sure you’re obsessing about the right things.
