Having a hard time coming up with an idea for your business? Try this

Everyone wants to become an entrepreneur today, but so many people don’t know where to start. So I decided to write this post to help you out. The main issue most people have is coming up with an idea. Ideas don’t just pop up from nowhere you need to give your brain something to work with.

The way you do that is, drown it in books, blogs, podcasts etc. The more information the better, your right brains is going to hold on to every bit of information you feed it. But that’s still only part of the process. Coming up with an idea is the process of taking two or more things you already know and combining them into something new. And there are literally trillions of possible combinations.

If you had a five-year-old smartphone or a million dollars supercomputer, which one would you use to test out all those possible combinations? The thing is, you have both. But you’re trying to use the outdated smartphone to do the super computer’s job. So how do you switch?

You make the switch by not doing anything

When you force yourself to come up with an idea you’re using your left brain (the outdated smartphone). The only way to use your right brain is to stop, and I mean stop everything. Once you know what you’re looking for but can’t find it, just stop.

Take a walk, exercise, do something that doesn’t require any brain power. As soon as your left brain stops working you right brain kicks in. You’ll start getting flooded with ideas, make sure to write them all down or record yourself. Don’t try to figure out if those ideas are valid, you’ll stop the process.

Only when you’re done, go through the list you created and find your new business idea. Try this one out and leave a comment, I’d like to know what you came up with.
