Never mind famous names like Tony Robbins, Joe Rogan, Tim Ferriss or Pat Flynn. Can the average person build a business that will generate revenue of $1 million a year? Turns out it’s more common than you think.
Just in the United States in 2015 over 35,000 one person business, meaning a business that doesn’t have any employees. Generated between $1 million and $2.5 million in revenue. Here’s a great post from Tim Ferriss the gives a few examples.
I was talking to a friend of mine last night about his ability to start a business online and what his potential profits could be. He’s starting a business that will allow people to send a note through email for him to put in the Wailing Wall. It’s a niche business, not everyone is religious and not everyone believes something like that would be beneficial.
You can find a link to his post here. he’s charging $25 per note, he needs to print it out of course and take a trip to Jerusalem. But let’s break this model down, $1 million is 40,000 orders. That’s 109 orders a day (remember he doesn’t have to take 109 trips). He can print out the notes and take a trip once every few days.
Now it all comes down to advertising. He needs to reach enough qualified prospects to reach his goal. When you look at the numbers the idea seems completely doable.
So the question is, what’s holding you back? What’s stopping you from making money doing what you love? I think this example of putting a note in a wall for your clients proves that you can do anything. So come up with a product, run the numbers and go get’em.
